A story is being sedulously propagated throughout India that Gandhi in Ins last interview with Premier MacDonald obtained an undertaking that if Gandhi oh > 'Tiks ' rot urn ‘saw the" Viceroy,' 'there would be. a chance ol a bargain on tin basis that ordinances would be repealed, if civil disobedience was not to be revived. The “Statesman” newspaper scouting this, says it would reflect upon Mr (MacDonald’s statesmanship. Tlie ordinances are against 'the terrorists, whom Gandhi has described as the enemies of Congress.
