WELLINGTON, December 16

The Count of Appeal dismissed the appeal in the case of Nelson and Coy. •versus Police (telegraphed on October 15th) but the fines were reduced to £2OO on the first charge and £lO on every other charge.

In the case of Borthwick and Sons v. Ryan (telegraphed on Septemoer 13th) the Appeal' Court gave judgment in favour of the -employers in each case, the judgment holding that the accident did not arise out of the course ol employment.
