Reports state that thousands of French children will receive Christmas presents stamped ‘“Made in Britain,’ instead of the familiar made in Germany. French markets are Hooded with British wares in consequence of the depreciation of the pound. A fifteen per cent, surtax is quite insufficient to keep them out. Contrary wise French manufacturers of luxury novelty articles and cosmetics cannot compete owing to Britain’s new import duties.
