CAMPBELL BEATS Q’MALLSY, AUSTRALASIAN GHAMPIQNsftIP. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) TIMARU, November 19. 'A professional boxing contest for the heavy weight championship of Australia was held ’ to-night between Alan Campbell of Timrau (the holder) and Jack O’Malley, ' Australia (challenger). It resulted in a win for Campbell on points, The fight went tine full fifteen rounds, at the end of which Campbell had a fair margin of points in his favour.
O’Malley .was the aggressor but failed to connect cleanly. However, Campbell scored well in in-fighting, his footwork was very clever and he got out of trouble on several occasions.
O’Malley took a lot of punishment, and he A\ r ent for a knockout right to the finish, but was unable to penetrate Campbell’s defence. The fight was a good one and the decision was well received.
