111 the Irish Sweepstake- the English Home counties secured 230 horses in the Manchester November Handicap, while America secured 109 horses. Ireland lierself secured 90 horses, Scotland 56, Wales 18, South Africa 43, Canada 16, Holland 10, and India 10. Lancashire was the luckiest of the English counties in the Sweep, obtaining one hundred chances. . Many of the horses are held in remote parts of the world.
