MR J. H. THOMAS
QUESTIONED CONCERNING TOUR,
(Received this day at 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 17
In the Commons, Mr Albery asked which Kominion, Mr J. H. Thomas, Secretary for the Dominion, proposes to visit before the Imperial Conference, when he will depart, and -how long he will be absent. Mr Thomas said that his plans were not yet definitely made. Mr Alhery: Is your inability to answer the question due to the feet that it is intended to hold the Conference earlier?
Mr Thomas: No, Sir. The date' is arranged because it ensures 1 the attendance of all the Dominions. Nothing is more fatal in my judgment than any Dominion being nnable to' attend. is far .better to fix a date for all, than to. he premature.
Replying to another questioner, he said: “A detailed estimate of the cost of his trip had not been made, hut the value of a general Empire agreement outweighs all considerations of cost.”
