TAXI-DRIVER INJURED
GASHED BY IRON BAR.
WELLINGTON, November 14
Allegedly struck on the head with an object that left a gash, George Leahy, a taxi-driver, was sent to hospital. It is stated that Leahy picked up -a fare about midnight and was driving down Taranaki Street when the passenger signified that he wished to alight . The driver was pulling up when it is alleged, the man struck him with what is Relieved to be a bar of iron. . 1
On arrival at the garage, Leahy was in,a state of collapse and he was rush, ed to hospital. His.. injuries are not thought to be serious. ..
