SPRINGBOKS’ LEAD

Uurnow’s fifty took ten minutes longer. Cameron, however, used the long handle when a lead of four hundred had been established, and he hit two delightful sixers. The South African captain lost his wicket in attempting another big hit.
Rain is now falling steadily, and play ceased at 3.45 p.m., stumps being drawn at 5.20. The South Africans’ tour of New Zealand is still under consideration.
