Despite their lead of 257 on the first innings, the Springboks to-day continued their batting in dreary fashion. ■Light rain fell all the morning, handicapping the bowlers and the fieldsmen, buc the batsmen were very slow, one hundred i runs occupying 133 minute*. The cricketer, Fairfax, has signed a contract to-day for a three years’ engagement with the Accrington Cricket Club in Lancashire, England. It is understood that his engagement netts him about twenty pounds per week.
