The Secretary of the Fanners Transport Defence Union stated that many farmers intended to continue the railing of their lorries into the market in defiance of the Transport Board’s regulations. Even if they are prosecuted, they will go to gaol rather than pay the fines. The Transport Board has announced a new scheme of transport co-ordin-ation and has already brought about a big improvement on tramways curing the first two idays scheme was operating. The average takings' increased by ten per cent., the increase being more than £3,000.
