WORK FOUND
FOR RAILWAY WORKS EMPLOYEES. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 28. Details of the arrangements made for employment, those men displaced by fhe cessation of work on NapierGisborne, South Island main trunk and Westport -Inangalnia railway lines, announced by the Minister of Public Works, Hon. J. G, Coates, 1-30 men concerned will lie placed on roading works throughout the country ami accommodations will be provided . for them, it having been decided that they he classified as relief workers. Although contracts might he let, housing has been arranged for the wives of married men in hutments alreadv in use at railway works. Mr Contes said he was pleased to say now it had been found possible to make arrangements to absorb all the men in other employment. The number of employed cvi the lines mentioned at the date of the stoppage was—NapierM nikokupia. 445; South Island Main Trunk, 694; We' loort-Tnangahua 362.
