N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. The New Zealand championship was continued in fine weather. Amateur Championship Semi-finals. "’--At the end of the first eighteen holes, Wagg was four up on North lake and A. S. Duncan seven up on Colbeck. -CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. In the Professional final Shaw was seven up on J. Forrest at the end of the first eighteen holes. Shaw maintained his brilliant form in the Professional final against Forrest and went the round in 70. Out — Shaw. 4,4, 3,5, 4,4, 4. 4,3, total, 35; Forrest, 4,5, 3,7, 5,5, 5, 4. 3, total 41. In—Shaw, 4,4, 3. 4, 3. 4,5, 4. 4, total 35; Forrest, 5,5, 4,4, 4,3, 5,4, 3, total 37. Arthur Duncan, ten times holder ot the amateur championship, gained a big lead of seven over Colbeck of Auckland. Duncan was playing in best style.
Wagg of Hutt. was four up at the home hole after a hard struggle with Mortland (Tailiape), who was in bad trouble at the start of the round and then recovered, but could not diminish Wagg’s early lead.
