Mr Gandhi is due to leave thndon. this evening for a. two day’s visit to Lancashire! He will stay at Springvale Garden Village, Darwin, and his engagements include ap . interview with a number of' the cotton tives, many of whom are unemployed, owing to the .state of Indian trade. The visit is a private one, but' mopes are expressed that as the result'- of exchanges of ' views on the distress, caused by the boycott of foreign cloth in India, a better atmosphefe may be created for any official discussions that may take place later with Indian delegates to the Round-Table Conference on the relations between India and the Lancashire cotton industry. Mr Gandhi is assured of a'.'courteous reception, due to his being the guest of his Majesty’s Government and to his spirit of inquiry that has prompted his visit, is appreciated in Lancashire.

INDIA’S SPINNING INDUSTRY.

LONDON, September 26.

Mr Gandhi informed the cotton employers and operatives in Lancashire that lie could not abandon' their home spinning .movement in; India, -hut said that if proper Anglo-Indiari relations were reached India would import a quantity of British cloth, though not the previous amount.
