BASKETBALL

Last Saturday the B. teams from the West Cbast schools played at Hokitika for the final round of the B. Grade Championship. The Grey Main School team proved victorious, their splendid combination and passing enabled them to establish a lead of six points from the runners-up, Grey Convent. Out of eleven games played, Grey Main had a splendid record, winning ten games and one drawn game. Results: —

At tile conelusioif of the play Miss Peelder, the President of the Association, presented the cup to the captain of the Grey Main School team, Vera Peillon, and congratulated her and the team on their splendid play. A basketball was presented to the runners-up, Grey Convent, Miss Pedder hoping that this team would do better next year. Their play had also been very fin e throughout the competition.

Occasion was also taken by the Association to make a presentation of a clock to the retiring secretary, Miss Ferguson. Miss Pedder, on behalf of the Association', thanked Miss Ferguson for the splendid work she had done. The Association owed a great deal to the untiring efforts of. Miss Ferguson, who for the last three years had been secretary, and during that time the work had been carried on most efficiently.
