(Received this day/at 1.5 p.m.l . LONDON, September 7. The Prince of Wales desired Admiral Sir L. Halsev to communicate with Mr MacDonald :-“His Royal Highness is anxious to know what he can do to help the National Exchequer in the present emergency although he has no grant from- Parliament, and derives his income solely from revenues from the Duchy of Cornwall. He proposes to contribute ten thousand sterling to the Exchequer in this time of national emergency." Mr MacDonald said: —“Will you convey to His Royal Highness my most grateful recognition of the initiative he has taken and the manner in winch he is hacking up the effort the Nation is called to make.
