Henderson ('Deader of the Labour Party) in a message to the Labour Party, through the “Daily Herald” says : —“A course of vigorous whole-hearted opposition to the new' Government can be followed without personal recriminations against old colleagues, who, doubtless, have been actuated by deep convictions; but this will not deter us from resolutely submitting our policies to Parliament.”

LONDON, September 7
The “Daily Telegraph" estimates that the 1 Government supporters on a confidence division will be made up of 261 Conservatives, 58 Liberals, nine Labourites, and four Independents, a total of 332, out of 615 members of the Commons, this leaving a ‘ Labour 'Opposition of 283 members. 'lt is expected that the Government's normal majority will be fifty. The “Daily Mail” points out that Mr Henderson (Leader of the Labour Party) will have to walk warily in leading the Opposition as many of the .Labourites resent the fact that the late Ministry went as far is it did in the direction of economies in the social services.
