HEARING OF EVIDENCE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association i WELLINGTON, September 2. Substantial progress with the taking of evidence has been made by toe Economic Committee. This morning, Mr Spiers (President of; New Zealand Manufacturers Association) and Mr F. O. Campbell (past President of the Manufacturers Association) were heard and Mr A. C. Mitchell (President ! of New Zealand Employers Federation) was under cross examination when the Committee adjourned for lunch. Mr T. 0. Bishop (Secretary of the Employers Federation) wrill appear before the Committee this afternon and will he followed by Mr T. D. Cornwell; (President of Trades and Labour Councils Federation). Mr J. Roberts (Secretary of the Alliance of Labour) was unable to attend to-day, but will be heard at a later date. ...
