DIAMOND JUBILEE

Yesterday,was the 60th anniversary of the .marriage of Mr and Mrs Jus. Bradley, of Westport. The marriage nook place Yaks, ; 6o years ago yest.-i dayo From there dr Bradley proeeerk77 to Glasgow, where ie carried, on his trade as a bricklayer. Air and Mrs Bradley left for New Zealand in the ship Dunedin 50 years ago- taking-up their residence’ at Ashburton, where Mr Bradley carried out various works. They ©arrie over to Westport about 4 years later, and Mr Bradley built the present gas works, carrying on for 20 years as manager. He then accepted the position he now holds of analyst to the- Westport Goal Company. 'He Has filled numerous public positions, including President of the Buller Progress League, Mem ben of the Westport Borough Council, Chairman of tlie Gas Committee, and President of the Westport School of Mines, a position he still holds. The issue of the marriage was 11—four sons and 7 daughters^—of whom 8 are still aliie, These are: Mrs Findlay, of Palmerston North ; Mrs Edwards, of Gisborne; Mrs VAvs, of Brisbane, Mrs Sawyers, of nWellington ; Mrs Holmes, of Dannevirke ;, Mr W. Bradley, of Wellington ; Messrs; J. and C. Bradley, of Westport. Theiy are about 27 grandchildren and., ,about 18 great-grandchildren. Mr and Mrs Bradley are at present on a, visit to Wellington. ,
