STUDENTS’ MEETING
LIKE A BEAR GARDEN. (By Telegraph — Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, August 12. The annual meeting of students of Canterbury University College held last evening was made farcical by the antics of some of those present. r Phe meeting opened tumultuously with a storm of paper darts, peanuts, and bags of flour. The President was greeted with - volley of missiles and terrific cheering. The minutes were read amidst a babel of noise, of whistling, songs, and cheering, while the balance-sheet was read in the intervals of songs aoout beer,, and other beverages. At one stagf*, later, the lights were outed, and the” Secretary was mysteriously abducted.
