Forest fires are devastating vast areas of timber land in four of G.e ’Western -States. The fires have raged over fifty thousand acres in Wyoming. Two thousand five hundred volunteers are fighting the flames in (Montana. v A shift in the wind saved Deadwood, in South Dakota, where- the fires extended over a fifty miles front. A serious blaze has threatened the National Forest in Idaho.
