KING’S TRIBUTE TO CLASCOW

The King and Queen visited Glasgow to-uay, and had a great welcome Hum tens or thousands who lined tjhe .-tCents. They passed the yards where a giant new Gummier is under construction.
In a speech the King paid a tribute to the courage arid enterprise of Glas {lows development schemes, and said that since liis first visit the freight using the port had doubled. For a century Glagow ships had sailed every ocean, atyl there were few corners in the world where they could not find a Glasgow engineer. It was a great record and was not yet ended. He believed that those who had faith in the future of the nation would reap a ful reward for their foresight. Referring to 'the Prince of Wales’ visit to South America. His Majesty said that the southern half of the Ameri can Continent would one clay be bound to Britain with even closer commercial ties. PRINCE OF WALES. ORDERS TWO HYDROPLANES. "ituaiiv, July'ii. The Prince of Wales has ordered two outboard racing hydroplanes from Messrs Sharland, of Birmingham, who have produced what is claimed as the fastest racing engine or its sise in the country. The Prince of Wales recently became interested in outboard racing and it is understood that- lie intends to,keep the boats- on Virginia Water, near Smith’s Lawn, his private aerodrome.
