A message from Seattle, Oregon, states that Robbins and Jones, in the monoplane “Fort Worth,” took off at 3.57 a.in. today for Tokio, flying via British'. Columbia and Alaska. -The plane wil refuel in mid-air late to-day over Fairbanks in Alaska. The refuellt ing plane, with two other Texans, Jimmy Mnttern and Nicke Greener, arrived at Fairbanks on Tuesday from Texas.
Tbe fliers hope to reach Tokio by Friday’ morning. Jones will be the navigator and Robbins the pilot, but Jones will take the controls occasionally. , The re-fullers, Mattern and Greener, have a tri-motored Ford 1 plane, which will refuel the “Fort Worth,” both at Fairbanks and at S'olocon in Siberia' The weather conditions for the first' part of the route are ideal. The distance is fifty-one hundred miles. They hope to win a twenty-five thousand dollars prize offered by a Japanese newspaper. Robbins - holds a commission ns Colonel in tbe National Guard Texas.
