FOUND ON LICENSED PREMISES
A LODGER’S RESPONSIBILITY

WELLINGTON, July 10
That the law does not allow a lodger in a hotel to become the means of access whereby Ids thirsty friends,casual acquaintances ar.d others may 1 each the liquor in a hotel during closing hours, was made plain to-day b\ Mi Page S.M. in a reserved judgment in a case in which Myles Barrington Wil liams was charged with having aided, assisted, counselled and procured the commission of offence of two men found aft’er hours at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Mr Page said that it was clear the men were invited into- the premises for the sole purpose of procuring liquor. Williams was convicted and fined €2. On the application of Air Perry,- who said the case wn of some importance to licenees, security for appeal was fixed at the amount of seven guineas.
