Lord Hewnrt (Chief Justice,) and Justices Avery and Charles have refused applications by Lord Ivysiant, that his case be heard by the King’s Bench, instead of at Old Bailey. Sir Patrick Hastings emphasised tluite there was a necessity for a special jury, owing to the complicated nature of the accounts, and the difficult questions (including those as to the duties of the accountants.
Mr Justice Avery said he doubted whether a- King’s Bench special jury would be more intelligent than an ordinary Old Bailey jury, which would he drawn largely from the cjtv of London.
