Sir Patrick Hastings emphasised tluite there was a necessity for a special jury, owing to the complicated nature of the accounts, and the difficult questions (including those as to the duties of the accountants.

Mr Justice Avery said he doubted whether a- King’s Bench special jury would be more intelligent than an ordinary Old Bailey jury, which would he drawn largely from the cjtv of London.
