GALE OF 63 MILES AN HOUR. SHIPPING HELD UP. (By Telegraph —Ter Tress Association) CHRISTCHURCH, June 24. The violent south west storm continues and a considerable amount of minor damage ia reported in, the city and suburbs, Huge «soa,s along the coast delayed •Shipping. The ferry steamer Maori is battling in the teeth of the gale and is pot expected to reach Lyttelton till late this afternoon. The gale reached a maximum velocity of 65 miles an hour at six o’clock last night. Two inches of rain fell in twenty four hours.
