An experiment of interest to Dominions’ orchardists and agriculturists was witnessed by a party of experts visiting Rothamsted experimental station. The experiments which were witnessed by the.. New Zealander, H. M. Richardson, arose out of a belief that irrigated land sometimes lost, its value after irrigation, due to the effect of constant water on the soil which was accustomed to only a small amount of ruin..

It is hoped the investigators will be able to inform prospective irrigators whether land is liktlv -to respond to irrigation, saving much needless expi ti sd.
