NEW REGULATIONS. I lil) I eletJTUpli — /Vi l‘rex.* 4 tXnClfltlUH/ WELLINGTON June 11. An Order-in-Coiuieii giving new Regulations under the Arms Act 1920 was gazetted to-night. The new regulations cover a number of machinery classes for facilitating easier handling of matters by the Police Department in the old regulations the police districts were referred to but in the-' new r.gulations tlu* term ‘ l)i>tricts” ha been omitted and the term “nearest Superintendent, or Inspector” substituted.
■Under tie new regulations the license to carry n pistol which formerly applied only to the police district, where such license, was issued .now covers tlu* area specified in the license. Tile new Act- makes provision for the amendments made by Pa ilia meat last year when shotguns were exempted from registration. Under the old Act tho certificate of registration of firearms only had effect in the district where it was issued, where-as, in Section 29 of the new regulation such eertilic :te will have effect throughout the Dominion. This will obviate the necessity for re-registra-tion on change of abode from one district to at)'-flier.
