MOTOR SMASH
ONE MAN KILLED. (By Telegraph —Ter Tress Association) AUCKLAND, June 9. At midnight a motor smash in. Kiiigsland caused the death of one man, seiious injuries to his wife ana two others. T lie man killed was Harry Merritt Parker, aged 35, a manage]-. The injured are Mrs Parker, and Clifford aml N. Cooper. All were hospital led with head wounds and condition fairly spripus'. The driver. Lawson Smith, .escaped injury and a sixth, person received minor in juries. The ear failed to take a turn and crashed into a telegraph post which was knocked out of alignment and cracked dean through The ear was wrecked. Parker ami his wile came to Auckland recently from Sydney, to open a branch of me firm of which Smith is the Sydney representative.
OUTCOME OF SMASH
AUCKLAND, June 9
Following the fatal motor smash already wired, Cyrus Lawson Smith, 57, a native of United States, appeared in the Police Court charged with being intoxicated, in charge of a oaf, driving without a license and causing the deatli of Parker b.v negligent driving. He. was i-onuanled to appear on June Kith. Bail was fixed at £SOO.
