RETAINED DY REFORM. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 27. J The by-election for the Hauraki seat r rendered vacant by the death of Mr Hall (Reformer), was held to-day. Last election tlie votes cast totalled 9,226, whilst the vote to-day was 7899. Mr Massey (Reform) 3,876 ill- Petrie (Labour) 2,514 Mr Allan (United) 973 Mr Ross (Country) 508 Informal 28 Total votes 7,899 The weather was fine for the polling.. There were 47 booths. LAST ELECTION. The polling at the general election in Hauraki was as. follows: A. W. Hall (Reform) ‘.... 3,8261 E. Allan (United) 2,OSSIE Petrie (Labour) 2,411 Informal 54
