WEDDING BELLS

SADLER—BODDY

Crowded with friends and wellwishers Holy Trinity Church, Grevmouth was the setting yesterday afternoon, when Lilias Alice, fourth daughter of Mr and Airs A. T Boddy, Milton Road, was married to Frederick Andrew, youngest son of Mr and Airs A. S'adler, of Nelson Creek. The service was performed by Archdeacon Jermyn, and; Mr T. F. Savage presided at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated by inends of the bride with chrysanthemums and greenery, a large whit© -bell- being suspended over the bridal couple. The bride, who was escorted by her father wore a graceful frock of cream panne velvet which fell almost to the ground. It was made on simple lines with a girdle of pearls, and fully flared shirt. Her beautiful veil of hand-embroidered tulle fell to form a long train and was worn well off the face and held in place by a hand of s eed pearls which clasped beneath the chin and tiny clusters of orange blossoms at each side. She carried a sheaf of cream roses-and carnations. The three bridesmaids, Aliases Mavis and Eleanor Boddy (sisters of the bride) and Afiss TJi'ba Kilpatrick, were clad in frocks of faille taffeta, all made on similar linos in shades of rose, enu-de-nil and delphinium blue.' Quaint little boleros adorned the front of the’ sleeveless bodices while tl4© V necks at back were fastened with lofig bows which fell almost to the ground. The anklelength skirts had flared frills at the sides.- Caps of taffeta, same shades as frocks, with bows at the na;»> of the neck were worn, weil off the face. All wore satin shoes to match their frocks and carried armlets of roses, carnations and chrysanthemums. Little Lorna Alufray was trainbearer, and wore a high-wnisted wedgewood blue satin frock finished with pink velvet' flowing and slippers to match The bridegroom was attended by his brother Air Leslie Sadler as best man, and Air David Wraight and Air Charles Nicholson were groomsmen. On leaving tine church, the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Chryse 'McKenzie. After the ceremony a reception was held at Herb Aloore’s Cabaret. Mrs Boddy received her guests -wearing a. black tailored costume and 1 1 hat'to match. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy satin coat trimmed with grey fur and hat to match. When the bride ana bridegroom left on' their wadding tour to the North Island -the bride wore a tailored ensemble 6r B&xe blue flecked tweed with hat and shoes to tone, and brown stole.-’Their future home will be in Christchurch.
