Victorian Seamen’s Union by an overwhelming majority rejected the strike motion against the ten per cent wage cut. N.S.W. DEFICIT. (Received 10.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 0. A deficit of £7,780,120 in the finances of New South Wales was revealed in the figures for the first ten months of flip piesent financial year. The revenue amounts to £32,£25,002. and expenditure to £40.784.512. VICTORIA’S DEFICIT. MELBOURNE, May 9. Although the Treasury statement for ten months shows a shortage of £4-,-004/1300 sterling, adjustments during thp remaining two months are expect ed to reduce Victoria’s deficit to two million. QUEENSLAND’S CREDIT BALANCE. BRISBANE, May 9. On April 13tb. Queensland had a credit balance •of £2,390.302 sterling in all funds.
