JN THE COMMONS. [United Press Association.— By Electro Telegraph—Copyright]. (Received 1'2.2fl p.m.) LONDON, May 7. The Lords’ division means that it rejected all the main clauses of the Bill.
Lord Hailsham said the House did not desire to challenge the peoples will, but it was bound to accept any measure which a minority Government by disreputable bargaining aiul jerrymandering, managed to squeeze through the Commons. He argued that- the Lords might amend the Labour Government's legislatio’n but its transformation into Conservative legislation was an action neither a Liberal nor a Labour Government could accept.
