N.S.W. FLOODS
NEWS FROM' AFFECTED AREAS. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY. April 27. Further flooding in the Hunter river district has ceased, the river having fallen six feet. The Hexham flat country resembled a huge inland lake. All roads in this area are impassible. An engine left the rails at Allyndale and a shunter. Owen Smith, was crushed to death underneath. The river at Lis mo re rose twenty-six feet above normal, lower parts of the town being under water. The river is now receding. Torrential rain fell over the south coast district of Queensland. All creeks and rivers are in heavy flood. The forecast* indicate unsettled weather on tile New South Wales ooasf with more heavy falls of rain and rough seas on the Tasman.
