There is no hope for the general agricultural situation, unless there is, some modification of farmers debts. One of the drawbacks of the present monetary svstem was that all Governments wanted to stabilise money at one level. AYby this should he. Air Gardiner did not know. There was no reason why th P Government should put its resources behind money, any more than these resources should he applied +<J support manufacturing.
