ENGLAND TO CAPETOWN. PREVIOUS FLIGHT RECORDS BROKEN. [United Press Association —By Electm Telegraph—-Copy right. J CAPETOWN, April 0, Commander Glen Kidson, who left England on Tuesday morning last, lahdecl this evening at Maitland aerodrome, the flight taking six days ten hours. He has thus broken all previous records to the Cape by at least three days.
Ividsou stated: “If 1. ran carry through a single trip like this as n private owner without proper organisation it must stand to reason that a commercial company, operating on tile same route, with relays of machines, will be able to do the journey much quicker.” He considers the Imperial Highways schedule of twelve days for the same flight ridiculous and urges that the ex peditious transit of mails is of utmost Imperial importance. Southern Cloud, search operations by air are to cease to-morrow, but ground parties will probably continue for a few days.
