LATE MISS EMILY JOHNSTON’S WILL. WELLINGTON, March 11. Public bequests totalling C 30,()()() have been made under the will of Miss Emily Johnston who died at Wellington last Moudoy. For the establishment of a scholarship to lie known as the Emily Johnston -Scholarship lor research in the science and art of clinical medicine the sum of £IO,OOO is left to the New Zealand University. A similar sum goes to the- Imperial Cancer Fund, London, and .£SOOO to the Home or Compassion, Wellington. Victoria Lniversity College, Wellington, receives £2OOO, the income from which is to he used for the provision of a scholarship at the discretion of the College Council. 'l'lie Alexandra Home for Women. Wellington, St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Lower Hutt, and Convalescent Home, Wellington, receive £IOOO each. Miss Johnston was the second daughter of the late Hon. John Johnston, M.L.C.
