A U CK LANI) SENTENC TS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 23. Sentences were imposed as follows in the Supreme Court: Herbert Williams, 22, and Morris Weston, 18, breaking end entering near Te Awainutu, botli two years in a Borstal Institute; Frederick Charles O'Connor, breaking and entering at Hamilton, two years’ reformative detention; Hirai Mokai (Whakatane), attempted i rape and breaking and entering, five ! years’ hard labour; Jack Hana, aged j 24, (Rotorua), breaking entering and theft, two years’ hard labour. SEXUAL CHARGES. GISBORNE, .February 24. At-the Supreme Court to-day, Clarence Allan Gyde, aged 38, appeared on a charge of carnal knowledge. The jury failed to agree. A new trial was ordered at the' .June session at Gisborne. Oh a similar charge, against Arthur Ernest Binder, a verdict of not guilty was returned, and the accused was acquitted.
