The Burmese rebels who, as the result of the military' and police activity, have split into small, hands, and are terrorising villages in the Tharravaracldy, and villagers who arc known to he friendly towards the Government, are being murdered. The Crown forces encountered one party of two bundled Rebels, killing eleven of them and the remainder fleeing. Messrs Findlay’s big timber camp near Tharrawaddv has been burned bv rebels. Two Britishers who were in charge made a timely escape.
