The League of Nations Council, at its final sitting, disposed of the German conj.pl.aint of ill treatment by Poland (cabled on . January 2D- _The Council unanimously adopted conclusions of the rapporteur, the-Japanese, M. Yoshjzawa, who-; staged he Lad found incidents of such, gravity, and extent as, to have, justified the opinion that Poland had infringed the Minorities Convention in numerous cases. The.: report recommends the "public authorities in the regions concerned to -place themselves above suspicion. in .. connection with political "strife,* and declares that the insurgents’ Federation “inspired a spirit which was not . designed to facilitate a rapprochement of the two elements in the population, whose reconciliation is a condition for the political consolidation oT that part of Europe.” No such Society, says the report, should bo allowed to hold a position piejudieing a minority. The Government should abolish any personal relationships between the authorities and SjicK associations.
