The nominations for the A) est Coast Bowling tournament to be held at Runaiiga commencing on Monday Feb. 9th. close on Monday evening the 19th. So fal* only four members of tho Hokitika Chib have notified that they are available for the tournament.

The singles championship for the West Const will also he contested during the same week, in which Mr D. Stevenson will be the local representative.

During the same week the annual meeting of delegates to the West Coast Association will be held at Runanga.

The concluding rounds in the Pairs Championship of the Dominion of X./k Bowling Associations’ tourney were played off to-day, ns well as the ties for section winners, and- in some instances, games for the green winner. Rain caused a postponement for about two hours just as the first game was finished. The greens for the opening games were holding as the result oi over-night rain, and were further slowed up as the result- of mid-day showers. Keen play again marked (lie progress of tne competition, and there were many interesting and close finishes.

Parsons (Poncunby) failed to win his section, being beaten b\ Tliid (Carlton) in a sensational manner. On the sixth head, Parson was 13 to nil on his opponent, and on the ninth head was 17-3. On the 18th head both sides were level—lS alb, and on the next head, Bird got. two points, when the bell went, as time was up.

BOWLING TOURNEY. AUCKLAND, January 1(5. The singles contestants having been reduced from 172 to five, and the pan's contestants from 236 to 38, cenine*'tors in the Dominion Bowling Championship Tournament to-day, started the rinks championship, in which there are 148 rinks, comprising 592 players. lliree games will be played to-day, Satin da,\, and Monday. Afterwards post section play begins. It is expected the tourney will finish on Friday or Saturday of next week.
