TRANSPORT CONTROL
(Australian Press Association)
(Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 8. The Lang Government is preparing legislation for the creation of a transport monopoly under one commissioner. This involves the abolition of the present railway commission and recently constituted transport trust,
•which controls trams nnd omnibuses. It is likely also that the main Roads jr Board will he eliminated. The whole 0 f these services will; then be coordinated and administered by one oommisisoner with subordinate heads. The Premier is of the opinion that a solution of the railway difficulties is also dependent upon the cutting up of large estates continguous to the railways. The Government, he state*, lias such a mandate and will attack :■ this problem without delay.
