POSTAL CONVENIENCES

WELLINGTON, Jn. 9,

Appreciation of the action of the N.Z. Postal authorities making ttvalU able to the public of New Zealand air mail services in other portions of the Empire and United States, is shown by the returns from the Post Office since Ist July last, when the scheme came into operation. Approximately seven thousand letters had been posted in New Zealand for conveyance in mail services from Karachi to London, and in Australia, Canada and United States. By far the greatest number were for transmission by the Karaclii-Lon-don service. There are over eight thousand miles of air routes in operation in Australia.
