BANDITS’ HAUL

Airs Rita Grey Chaplin and Georges Carpentier made representations to the police to-day that they were kidnapped by bandits, and robbed of fifteen thousand dollars worth of valuables and jewels. Both are playing in a local variety theatre, and after the performance were in the lady’s limousine when four gangsters entered the car and dilove off, stripped her of her jewels and then made Carpentier, Mrn Chaplin and the latter’s ehaffeur get out. The bandits thereafter disappeared with the automobile, which, however, they soon abandoned.
