FIRE IN A SHOP
STOCK MUCH DAMAGED
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, January 9. Eire broke out in a shop occupied by Buckley Bros., gramophone and musical instrument dealers, in Heretaunga Street shortly after midnight. The stock was much damaged hut the brigade made a splendid save and extinguished the flames before they had spread to adjoining premises. Armstongs, jewellers, and Mr Jones, ladies’ outfitter, suffered damage to from smoke and water. Buck--I,.v’s st'-ck was insured for L'fiOO in the Queensland office, but the insurance on the building, which is not extensively damaged, is not available.
