' ' b Archbishop Diaz charged America with trying to implant “Protestantism with a view to gradually absorbing Mexico. “Protestantism,” 'declared Archbishop Diaz, “is the one element with which our powerful neighbour nation is trying to gain gradually, but ’ effectively, the realisation, of its imperialism in our land.” .
