MEAT STRIKE
COST OF STOPPAGE. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 9. All the meat strikers will he at work to-day. Although the stoppage only lasted a month it resulted in a loss of £33,000 in wages to the men and the loss to trade amounted to £120,000 sterling. Members of the Master Butchers Association decided to send a deputation to Premier Lang, to ask lr'ni to facilitate the payment of about nine thousand sterling represented by coupons for meat issued under the unemployment relief scheme.
