The weather and the wicket were perfect for the . resumption of the match West Indies v. South Australia. The attendance was meagre. Requiring 37 runs to .save an innings defeat, the West Indians were very scratchy. Grimmett completely beat Constantine after he had scored three. Bartlett, who had been batting solidly, was caught at mid-off. His innings lasted 54 minutes, and his thirtythree included three fours. Francis was lucky to- escape when four; Wall, dropping him at mid-on, and lie showed his appreciation by late cutting Waite to the fence. Griffiths, after missing the first hall from Lees, was smartly taken by Walker. The innings, which lmd. occupied 1 o'minutes, ended for 162. four runs to win, South Australia, secured these in eight minutes, without the loss of a. wicket, and won by ton wickets.
