A HOL'D UP OIIAROK. CHRISTCHURCH, November 25. What lie described as a drunken freak, led William Robert Sharp, aged 50. a labourer, to threaten two people with an air pistol and demand money in Manchester Street on November 20. Sharp appeared before the Magistrate, Air Mosley, this morning and was remanded to Thursday for medical examination. Accused said he had been working on the West Coast as a labourer. He came to New Zealand Irom Kngland seven years ago. One witness said he certainly believed the accused had a revolver when he accosted him. It was sticking out ol his pocket. The police said Sharp had taken a good deal of drink but was not drunk.
