SKATING CARNIVAL
A LIVELY GATHERING. The Drill Shed held a crowded attendance last night when a fancy dress skating carnival was held. The floor was crowded to its capacity with skaters, a great number being in fancy dress, while seating accommodation for onlookers was considerably overtaxed.
The floor had a very gay appearance, with the many colored dresses, while the Parry Sound Machine supplied a pleasing musical programme. A number of special events were held and proved a decided interest. The following were the results: Best fancy dress:—Miss Collett (lady), Mr B. Andrewes (gent) Micky Mouse.
Most improved skaters:—Miss Phyllis Dowell and Mr Mason (Arahura), a special prize for the smallest skater being also provided by Mr McKane to Miss Betty Dowell.
Quoit competition was won by Miss Giliool.v (lady) and Mr McMullan (gent). Potato Race:--Miss Gillooly. Cobden. (ladies), J. Jackson, Cobden. (gents). Speed Rare: —J. Morley. Cobden.
