WELLINGTON, Nov. 18

The prophesy made by A. J. Butchers in his book “Education in N.Z.” that the first child of every third girl will be conceived out of wedlock was challenged bv a deputation to Hon. H. Atmore from the parliamentary watch committee of National Council of AYotnon of New Zealand to-day. It was contended that the statement, was illogical and not justified by the data supplied by the sentistienn and was a slur on the young people of New Zealand. . The Minister in reply sympathised with the deputation and stated the Government had no power over the book.
