VISIT OF AUSTRALIAN CYCLISTS
WELLINGTON CENTRE’S PROPOSAL. WELLINGTON, November 10. Although the New Zealand Athletic Association has decided not to invite any Australian cyclists to compete in the Dominion this year, it is likely that the Wellington Centre will do so on its own initiative. At this evening’s meeting of the centre the chairman (Mr A. C. Kitto), said he thought such a venture would be a success financially. He was sure that the sub-centres, Wanganui particularly. would support it. Mr J. Goodall: Is there not a move to send Grose over to Australia this year? He thought the centre should concentrate oil that, otherwise it might find its ’hands too full. Mr Kitto said that Grose’s visit to Australia would not affect an Australian visit here. The visit, he said, would cost about £oo. The meeting decided to negotiate first with the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association prior to getting in touch with any Australian body 7.
